My friend is planning on traveling to Nepal on first week of May and his passport is expiring in June. Does he needs to renew before he travel or he can go with old passport and renew in Nepal.
Wondering about some kind of 6 months rule before passport expires to travel international.

For any Nepali passport holder, they can travel on an unexpired passport and have it renewed in Nepal. So in this case, yes, he can travel to Nepal using the current passport.

For travel to another country, they would need to have a six month passport validity. Along the same lines, if it was an American passport holder, they would need to renew their passport because of the same rule.

Hope this answers your question.
