People with spouse and/or kids abroad, how did you get ITIN done? I believe Foreign Affairs Ministry issues some document but my knowledge is pretty vague. Can someone plz shed some light?

You only need ITIN number in the US if you don't have an SSN. Find the info below: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/taxpayer-identification-numbers-tin#:~:text=SS%2D4PRPDF.-,ITIN,NNN%2DNN%2DNNNN). You said Ministry of Foreign Affairs - are you talking about a Personal Accounting Number (PAN) which is the TAX Identification Number in Nepal? IF that is the case, you have to apply for a PAN number at your local Internal Revenue Department Office. Hope this helps!
