alece, mine is 4.3.4, is tethered jailbreak possible on that? if you have any video, can you please share with us?

 U can try limera1 or green poison......n for ios 5..jailbreak will be coming soon n untethered too...m waiting for untethered jailbreak for ios 5 too...

as i said download redsnow 0.9.9b4!!!! find ur ipsw!!! wehn u start redsnow there should be two options Jailbreak and Extras!!! click on extras locate ur ipsw file !! and then process should be easy !!!! u just have to click install cydia and put ur phone in dfu mode!!!! and the rest of the work should be done on you phone!! i dont think u really need a  vidoe to do this!! :p

 i forgot to say u need to download your ipsw file!!! 

 rahashya, without jailbreak i can't use skyfire browser which supports flash movies, i can't use mywi which creates a wifi hotspot, i can't play my 50+ bootlegged games. so it's like just another blackberry or android phone. with jailbreak it's godsend alladin's lamp. u can pretty much do anything. well anyways i am using my old iphone 4 so i aint in a hurry. just wanted to take advantage of dual core in 4s.

Kalia, your question is incomplete but let me try to clarify few things. (assuming you want to unlock as jailbreak is almost possible for all 3G and 3GS)
Jailbreak is possible foe all iOS (for iOS 5 it is just the semi-tethered one ..meaning if the phone dies or have to restart you have to connect to computer and run redsn0w)

Unlock is possible only with following  basebands
              iPhone 3G and 3GS with 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00.
              iPhone4 with 01.59.00
     (again even iOS 5 but semi-tethered)

Now if you have any of the above basebands you do not have any problem jailbreaking and unlocking. Even you have diffrent basebands you can fetch ipad baseband 6.16.00 to 3GS (running redsn0w)  but with possibility to get stuck with the BB forever and loosing GPS functionality.

If you have unlockable BB, avoid updating stock firmware from apple since that will update both iOS and baseband. To avoid that download stock IPSW file and modify with redsn0w and update via itunes. (many tutorials available ...one of the best site to go is iclarified)

@eastsidaz....I thought, skyfire browser is available in app store for 3 dollars. Regarding mywi, I heard that Att is catchinh up and they are sending messages to those using mywi to add tethering plan to their account. Else that will be automatically added.

 rahashya, the catch up game has been played by corporations since time immemorable. if they catch up, the users will take a leap forward and the show goes on.  i got this unlimited internet from the iphone get go. yes they contacted me regarding my data usage habit. they wanted me to subscribe to  their limited unlimited data plan. just how oxymoronic can they get. all i had to do was negate them. using iphone to watch netflix  or using it as a wifi router is priceless. well yes, u can get skyfire for $3. dont u wanna get it for free. how about them 50+ apps for free. dont call me kleptomaniac. do u really want me to shell out $200 from my pocket for the games. i dont have that kinda money.
