Bhatbhateni is an upscale store. you go if you want to spend. You don't go if you don't want. The same brand cloth cost diferent in walmart and different in macy. it is your choice where to buy. It is a capitalist society.  These store also have one tag with a price and charge different price sometimes. These writing shows how agressive and educated our nepali brothers. My one sentence made them crazy hahahaha. 

MNO this is not about supermarket cheating indians. This is about that supermarket cheating all Nepalis by adding extra 10% without customers knowledge. Thanks to this person for being vocal about it and sharing with other Nepalis so they don't get cheated on.

That man said it is companies policy to add 10% on the price. So all those people who go there for the past 10 years don't check their bill at all or what? So all those people who go there are not smart like you or what? Or the people who go there want to spent because they are rich and want to make that place richer. 
 If you don't want the goods with 10% extra charge you don't go there or you leave that stuff there. 
Everyone knows Bhatbhateni is expensive than outside stores and still it is doing business. It is even opening more stores. 
 

@mno -When i went  back in nepal like 2 years back , I bought some of their stuff and checked my receipt like i do it here . There was no 10 % tax at all . How can you say those who went there for almost 10 years back didnot check their receipt .

I think that guy in the video did a good public service by bringing this 10% mark-up to general awareness, hoina ra?

I wonder if there is a legit reason for Bhatbhateni to charge extra 10%.  It does not make business sense to do so otherwise.  Bhatbhateni is a very profitable company, why would they jeopardise all that by doing something illegal?  

Perhaps somebody can explain with a cool head.

They might have added that just recently who knows. No business tells you that they are increasing their price by advertisement. But they advertise lowering price. That is what called business policy. Not cheating.

10% sales tax ?

For those who have lived in states/province with high sales tax this is hardly a shocking thing. Except food to be prepared at home, we pay 13% sales tax on everthing from clothing item to taxi fare to electronics on top of sticker price though taxes portion of the purchase price are clearly indicated on receipt.

Can someone in kathmandu verify if Bhatbhateni still does it? Perhaps they only do it randomly. Whatever it is, I found the comments in youtube and some here pathetic.
