On 20 Dec show on ABC, Barbara Walters was interviewing a guy, a pastor, who said in plain english that people who do not believe in Christ will go to hell!! This is downright wrong and infringement of constutional freedom of religion...is there anyway to stop this..I am sure all Muslims, buddhists and Jews would support

Amendment I of the US constitution (one of the bill of rights) states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances How is that an infringement of this right? What the person stated is his opinion and that is protected under Freedom of Speech. There is no law or decree that forces us to practice christianism is there? Barbara's tonight interview dealt with Atheists and Budhism..is that infringement as well? Sorry, but very feeble argument.

I have just finished watching the two hours show and it was very interesting how christians, muslims, budhist and Atheists think about the heaven. IT was not just about the christians believe, it was the opinion of the various religious leaders or preist. There was no interview from any hindu religious person though.

I also went to local church that was live on tv. The pastor was saying that belief in any other god but christ is false god. To Dalli resham jee, according to my knowledge, heaven or hell don't exist in buddhist theory.

Gwajyo, What I heard from last night show His holiness Dalai lama yes, it ( heaven-hell) does exist. but not as christian, muslims or jews think. According to D.Lama after you died you will re-incarnate and it all depends how good or what you are in this life pretty much how hindu believed. If you are good in this life you will re-incarnate as a better being and if you are bad you can born as worse being.

Buddhism takes the middle path; that's why there's no hell or heaven but in between. What I've heard is that we've to get birth again n' again coz' we carry the sins. Sins are the seeds for re-birth. As soon as we can purify ourselves i.e. by getting enlightenment or "ARHAT" or "NIRVAN", then no more birth. "Bodhisatta" has many lives before he can be "BUDDHA". But there're many examples in buddhist text of getting "Arhat" in one life.

ok feeble argument..lookign at legal terms etc but the point is can anyone badmouth another's religion on prime-time national tv..? and is there any way to stop this..? christians have always treated other faith as inferior and resorted to lowly means to converting people to their faith.i once heard a pastor visting my village say that if u become christian america will send u money and u don't have to work another day in life.there are many stories like this.why can't there be a law that bans religious solicitaions..?

Bhumi Gh Pal: Barbara Walter's interview on ABC yesterday was pretty interesting. The funny thing is she asked every sector of religion- Catholic/Evangelical/Buddhist/Muslim/Jewish but no Hindu. Except Richard Gere and Dalai Lama every single believers of different religion believes on either Heaven or Hell. If you do good things you will be on the bound to Paradise otherwise to hell bound. I am so surprised to hear the Islam version of Paradise- especially having surrounded by 72 virgins on the Heaven where there is a eternal flow of milk, honey and etc etc. It was so hillarious to hear those evangelical's claim that only through Jesus we will go to the Heaven bound. I was a bit surprised not to see the Hindu believers on her interview. It was so sad to hear one believer of one religion claiming the superiority than other. Salvation through Jesus, salvation through Mohammed.... May be I am naive to claim that hardly any Hindu makes fun of Christian. Atleast they know what they are doing whethre hell or heaven bound. Anyway, the moral of the story- I am a bit disappointed of not seeing any Hindu believer on the show. Good one Bhumi Gh! Q

Only Jesus Christ rose from the dead, to raise you all from the dead, that is if you trust him as your saviour. He was born of virgin Mary(no importance to Mary though, she was just a carrier) Christ claimed I am the way, the truth and life, no one cometh unto the father, but by me. Which of the Gods have ever so boldly claimed that? Krishna said I come to the worl to destroy sinners? Think who is not a sinner? Your thoughts are filled with sin. Krishna flirted with women, had loads of Gopinis, stole. Christ never did these stuff. He led a sinless life, that is why we can trust in Him. You know truth hurts, thats why when he spoke the truth, his own people (Jews) hated Him. Hope you all find THE TRUTH.

what is the point, krishna and christ could just be somebody's imaginative characters we don't even know if they existed ever even if they were in exixtence people in those days were pretty gullible to believe in them i guess. imagine what will happen if somebody today claims to be GOD or son of God. people will laugh. won't believe. at least i won't

Sonchne Manche Pal: Thank God "Virgin Mary" was born on that era where she was acceptable as an unmarried mother, what will happen if "Virgin Mary" is happen to give a birth in this so called "Evangelical Christian" era? By the way, Sonchne Manche Pal, how about Jesus's companion Magdalena- sound more than Gopinis to me. Anyway, hate talking three things in life- Politics, Religion and the Age of a Woman. LOL! Q

i don't know why christians think they are above people of other beliefs, why they think that other beliefs are inferior.being so judgemental is against what jeasus taught.he taught love ur neighbour and treat them as ur brother.modern day chirstains are so far from what he taught. anyway, i strongly believe that in country like USA where there are people of all different faiths, chirstians should not be given the right to abuse other people's faith.in fact no one has that right.we are all equal and we have to be treated that way.

I don't hate religions per se. The way I see it, religion is a mixed bag. Many of the religious texts preach good messages. Love thy neighbour, no killing, etc. Good Things. In an age where people are educated and are capable of critical thinking, I find it particularly depressing that fundamentalists - i.e. people who take their religious texts too literally - and extremists - i.e. people who are seriously misguided about what their religion is really is - are making a comeback. People who insist that the world is only several thousand years old, that God created everything, that science and evolutionary theory are baloney. People who preach sendition against others, who declare that God wants people to kill each other just because... It is all very depressing. Religions might start out in good faith, but I guess a corrupt world corrupts these religious institutions faster than they can clean them up. Seriously, all religion is man made. Christ didn't 'create' Christianity. His followers did....same with the rest. That's why I was taught to keep faith in God, not man. peace....

religion is man made and hate is also man made.hopefully we all will be resolve the differences.if we want the world to be a place where everyone is respected and there is no hatered among people of different faiths, we have to start with treating everyone as equal.lets not think that our belief is superior than others.that is just wrong.and this applies to everyone..

totally agreed with you ladyinred. I do have faith in god but I dont' give my god a name or label him with particular religion. People do confuse on religion and culture tho..most of us, we think that if we don't follow any religion, we won't have no culture which is totally a BS.
