Yet, I felt the numbness take over- and as the unconsciousness took over my body slowly like a poison- i knew- i was dying. Tears streamed my eyes- and the protected feeling I used to get being around my folks did not seem to be working at this time ...

Why is it that death scares us so much? Especially the puraan they read for 13 days when someone dies in the house gave my horrors as a teenager.

Today, I happened to read a monologue on Death, and it gives a more positive image of it- What do you guys think?

i think we are more scared of our loved ones death more than our own, and its not the death we're scared of, it's the consequenses of death, loosing someone we love, and adore.

scareness is a feeling too, and emotions and sentiments are neither logical nor rational, that is why, human cant be so rational about death, but sentiment.

Death is not the ultimate truth of life.

Even if you can run away from death, you cant run away from surviving, survivorship is the ultimate truth of life, no matter what you do, you have to survive, go thru good times and bad, be happy and sad. thats the truth of life.

Indeed the death is inevitable. I myself was in the search of the mystery behind the death as a teenager. The death of known people, not necessarily your relatives, did haunt me and led me to the state where I was forced to come up querries like "Why people have to die?" Later I found it's the never ending cycle.:) I'm glad I was able to come of out of those situations.

i never delve into those kind of spiritual stuffs. life is too short to seek for reasons behind each and evry thing. "just take the day as it comes and try to live it to the fullest"--my motto of life.
of course everyone will have to die one day (any day)...but yes i am scared of the death when i think about it while living. but i think, may be god will give us immense power to overcome the trauma of death.

when i was a child, i used to feel squeamish by watching Gabbar Singh cut Sanjeev Kumar's hands. i used to get scared like hell just by imagining how much pain he must have been feeling. i went through a nasty bike accident myself when i was in Nepal, and i was badly injured. but i did not feel that much pain which a spectator watching me hurt may have imagined for me.

so i guess, when time comes, god will also grace you with enough courage physically and mentally to overcome the trauma of death. just watch and enjoy life, god is great isn't he/she? ahhhhh....god must be she.....hehehehehehe
