Yes why not. You never heard of someone dying from an overdose of Bong hits, or someone going on a mass murder spree induced by some Kind Bud.
Regardless, everything should of course be taken in moderation, anything in excess is bad for you. I'd rather smoke weed than cigarettes, much healthier, just because the tobacco company tells you it aint so, don't believe the hype.
Agriculture wise it also is very beneficial for farmers and can be a major factor as a natural resource for a countries economy.

Besides i'd rather get the real criminals off the streets than wasting tax payers money arresting a guy who just wants to smoke and watch Half Baked or The Matrix for the 20th time while eating a big bag of cheetos and oreos.

It's a psuedo-legal substance already. I read somewhere many police departments are reluctant to crack down on pot usage simply because of other, higher priority, issues like homicide, narcotics etc that they need to deal with.
