Hello All... I am confused and little bit surprised. I saw people celebrating Prashant's win at Kathmandu and Darjelling. I saw people holding nepali flags at India and celebrating it. Great ! As one nepali I am proud of it. But what if tomorrow one Madhesi wins Nepali idol and bihar celebrates it with indian flag. OOPS...thats not allowed..thats the direct attack on nepali nationality probably funded by RSS..most nepalis will say dhotis won the nepali idol...and imagine if nepali idol from madhesh area decides to wear dhoti on idol finale...can we imagine that. how will be our response then...and no offence to Prashant but hes indian..he grew up at india..used indian resourses to get educated. also i wonder why Madhesi people should feel they belong to nepal when their own people (udit naryan) gets trashed by media where as indians guys win is celebrated every where in phadi area.. will luv to hear some comments on this issue from some sajha basi... FYI..I'm not madhesi...

Simpson, i guess you need some Paxil, Zoloft, and Risperidone together.. 6 times a day.. lol You can not divide everything on the basis of race, gender, language and geographical boundaries... Hope those meds will help you raise your thinking pattern to normal level... Prashant has been an icon of nepali unity... and now you are dividing nepali and madhesies... Thats the reason i recommended you high dose of antipsychotic drugs... LOL

There are so many funny questions and weird hypothesis people are raising here after Prashant won the title. I do not really feel responding to those threads. The motive behind such funny threads could be anything, but mostly these people are not celebrating with Prashant's win because they don't feel they share his feeling. In this thread, there are two different issues mixed together - one is about raising the flag and another is about madheshi vs pahadi people. These issues shouldn't be glued in a well-informed discussion. Before raising question about the use of Nepalese flag elsewhere, we should recall the history of Nepalese flag and Indian flag. Nepalese flag is a partl of our culture. You can see double-triangled flag with half-moon and the Sun in temples, monuments etc. that were built before existence of current political boundary of Nepal. The flag is involved in many rituals and cultural activities for centuries. The same flag was adopted as the national flag later on when Nepal applied for UN membership. So, this flag was and is the proud flag of all Nepalese living elsewhere in the world who share common culture with us. Officially it was registered as Nepal's national flag only about 5 decades ago. Therefore I believe every nepalese origin people do have equal right to carry the flag and cheer with that cultural pride no matter wherever they are living in the world. If we do not have problem with Nepalese origin people speaking our common language, wearing our common costumes, playing our common musics, celebrating our common festivals, then why should we have problem with cheering up with our common cultural flag? On the other hand, Indian national flag was designed, proposed and approved as the flag of India several years after Indian independence. Current form of Indian flag did not even exist when India got freedom from british reign. Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagat Singh used to cheer up with a different flag than the flag we see as the Indian national flag these days. Pakistan and Bangladesh, ruled by the same British under the same occupied India, do not have any tie with current Indian flag. India and Pakistan developed their own flags. The indian national flag was never been associated with any activities of our Madhesi people. So, if any madhesi people start cheering up with indian flag, then that is definitely a serious offense against Nepal, whose officially adopted flag is a different one. The fact to understand is the Indian flag represents Indian national pride and the Nepalese flag represent Nepalese cultural pride for all Nepalese spread over the world as well as Nepalese national pride for those who are associated with Nepal's political boundary While talking about Madheshi vs Pahadi people, I think none of genuine madhesi people want them to attach with India. There are genuine causes for Madhesh to revolt against the long-lived oppression, which are being blamed to be fueled by India for some political gains. But the truth is that, Madhesi people are as patriot as any other nepalese if they need to stand for Nepal. Many pahadiya people fail to understand this fact and keep hurting madheshi people by questioning their faith and patriot feeling, which is only harming our national integrity. One recent example, did you guys notice the body language and facial expression of Udit Narayan when he encountered with Prashant in the audition round of Indian Idol? He was excited to talk in Nepalese immediately he found a nepali folk came there for audition, and the warmth message exchanged between these two nepalese heart were not hidden but burst out from their facial expression. So guys, I sincerely request all of you, do not ever dare to question the faith of madeshi people for their love to our country and do not try bringing conflicts between madheshi and pahadi with hypothetical issues. Let us learn to love all nepalese, respect all nepalese, that will do good to all nepalese.

Waving a nepal national flag in darjeeling doesnot offened anybody, cause everybody is well informed that there were hundreds of people from Nepal who had come to Darjeeling for the support of Prashant. There were atleast hundred vehicles with big banners and nepali national flag flying high which passed away from panitanki border alone on that day and this thing started atleast from 3-4 days earlier the grand finale. One more thing you must be knowing that you have to pass thru the indian police & customs in india while travelling there. In fact indian govt. did not charge any duty on the vehicles bearing nepali no. plates passing to India for that day. It was free of charge . Cause everybody know its just an act of solidarity and people are supporting a nepalese speaking fellow who is an indian by nationality & birth whose ancestors probably may have been from nepal . No body is offended by that . C'mon guys have a big heart anybody can wave there national flag in any country, there is no harm in that at all . But the thing anybody should not disgrace anyones flag. That will be an offence and a crime. You guys may have seen games happening in different countries of the world and the players/spectators wave national flags of there respective countries they are from . Yesterday there was a match between India and Pakistan in South Africa and there were thousands of people waving the flags of these two nations. Was it an offence to SA people. With all the due respect to all of our nepali people, I feel that we have got a very narrow heart. So, we feel intrusion in every thing and this is the main cause that we aren't progessing because we link everything even day to day event to nationality, we feel very very insecured because of this narrow mindedness of ours. In order ti progess and deal with the bigger world we need to come out of this mindset & inferior complexity. Guys, I am very very sorry if I have offended anybody. The above mindset & statement applies to me as well being a true nepali, so in a way i am Criticissing & commenting on myself .

Interesting comments...just trying to point our double standards...how we feel if some madhesi wins the nepali iodl and indian comes to nepal with their flag to celebrate it...or even worst than that if prashant was from madhesh and had madhesh link....

Simpson, its your jeolousy speaking out,,nothing else. dont feel you are a looser and cant do 0.005% of what this simple guy prashant did in his life. at least congratulate him, listen to his song and if you enjoy, smile,,if not, start watching 50 cents, and there is a new britney's video in market these days,,watch her carefully, it will drive you directly to bathroom, believe me. Prashant has not hurted anybody, he has never spoken anything wrong about nepal yet.

he is representing india, he is an indian...but at the same time, since he cannot boycut his ancester (nepali), he is trying to cope up with both. Thats all. this is us who is benefiting from his fame, also this is only us who is responsible for any blasphemy around.

उठेको बिषयमा मलाई लागेको कुरा गर्नु पर्दा - "But what if tomorrow one Madhesi wins Nepali idol and bihar celebrates it with indian flag. OOPS...thats not allowed.." "If you love Nepal so much...more than country you live in..better come to nepal. how ethical is it to love nepal (and say my country) and stay in india be indian national ?"
