A book of tickets for Himalayan Live Concert was stolen yesterday, November 9, 2006. Ticket numbers between 101 and 125 are not to be bought if anyone approaches to sell. Anyone holding any of these tickets will not be admitted to the Concert, organizers warn.

Himalayan Live Concert will feature Raju Lama, Nima Rumba, Mingma Sherpa, Sindhu Malla and Tsering Gyurmey - with the band, Mongolian Heart.

You know why the tickets were stolen???

It's because the price is too expensive. Unless it was designed to provide an opportunity to attendees to brag that they watched a fabulous nepali show and that too in Manhattan, New York, United States of America.

Is is true? If yes, there will be some people to buy,but what will happen if we get trouble at the gate? who will be responsible? i love to go there, but I need cheaper ticket if possible. I don't want to miss the program no matter how since it is a live.

khaobaadi - wow! you think the concert will be so popular as to have its stolen tickets being sold on e-bay? My next stop, ebay.com.

LT 03 - As you said you "don't want to miss the program no matter how", don't go after the stolen (or lost) tickets. Organizers have told me, and asked me to add it here, that the lost ticket numbers will be posted at the gate and the volunteers checking the tickets at the gate and the securities will be instructed to confiscate them and not let the ticket bearer(s) in.

Why is this ad not blocked? Lot of other site names are banned because of ad few times how come this one is not considered ad?? This kind of show makes more money that those small sites who try to advertise here and get blocked.

Hey Webjunkie - not knowing exactly what your beef is against Sajha.com, why do you have to begrudge the fact that this thread is left alone by the admin(s)? There may be a difference in Sajha.com's policy in regards to a thread like this vs a thread advertising other web sites, constantly? Just a guess.

BTW, there is an ad on the events section for this concert. That, I assume, could have been paid for?

And since you guessed this kind of show making more money than..... let me just report to you what I heard this Himalaya Community is estimating to raise funds of around $20,000 to be used for totally non-profit and community related work in the future.

Jun Show aaye pani Non Profit bhanne ani paisa jatti sabai kumlumma hoki kya ho sathi. I see each and every shows or concerts or programme advertised here in Sajha says NON Profit and benefits someone back home and I never heard shlt done back home. So lets not say a word A bout NON PROFIT. Its just makes me sick.

Mike Bibby - You're absolutely right. I am with you when you say there's not much to show for when every Tom, Dick and Harry from Nepal does a show for non-profit, blah, blah, blah, and they don't come back and show us what they did with our money. It would indeed be nice if they could come back here on Sajah.com, if they announced them here, and demonstrate what they achieved.

Himalaya Community is for the people from the Himalayan regions of Nepal in New York. Just to clarify that the funds raised this Saturday will not leave here. Hopefully, they will keep us abreast with their progress here on Sajha.com.

As for myself, taking your advice or learning from your frustration, I will definetely update you with the programs I personally was involved with - such as from the showing of the movie Karma in NY recently.

But please, one request to you though, if I may. Just because many folks work hard in the name of 'non-profit' and don't seem to have much to show, or we don't seem to see, does not mean that they are into hanky panky. Some may be, because I can't vouch for all, but rest assured not all are crooks..

And Don_Key - I am glad to hear that you decided to come to the concert. I thought you were one of the whineers in the beginning but your willingness to come now showed me that if one works hard one can change mind. Can I take the credit for your decision to come to the concert?

About the song you mentioned, all I can say is, "I have no idea what song you're talking about". I hadn't even heard of Sindhu Malla until I heard about this show/concert. Please don't tell her this. I only know her songs from what I have been able to get from YouTube.com.
