Nobody is saying Manisha is not entitled for her opinion. It's like saying ,"Opinion is like an ass hole, everybody has one". It is a disgrace for the whole Koirala dyanasty to have a son like Prakash Koirala and a grand daughter like Manisha. King reserved ministerial berth to Mr. prakash Koirala as his tactical move to enfeeble Girija and entire Congress Party. Mr. Koirala is high all the time with drugs and alcohol. So, he is an addict. What can we expect from his Bollywood slutty daughter. Is she beautiful, absolutely yes! but is she helping for the true cause of peace, democracy, and development in Nepal? Absolutely NO. Person who spend all her time in India, should not have gone that far to criticize popular movement in Nepal and asslick King Gyanendra. Like Father Like Daughter.

Clairvoyant

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) -- Pro-democracy activists are urging a boycott of films featuring Nepal-born Indian Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala because she supports Nepal's king, a constitutional monarch who seized absolute power last year.

Activist student groups from Nepal's seven largest political parties made the call after Koirala flew in from neighboring India days ago and began campaigning for candidates in municipal elections planned for Feb. 8.

TV footage showed Koirala backing candidates in her hometown of Biratnagar, about 500 kilometers (300 miles) southeast of the capital, Katmandu, and telling reporters people should support King Gyanendra.

Koirala moved to Bombay in the last decade and became a popular actress in India's thriving Hindi-language film industry, dubbed Bollywood.

Nepal's government-run Rising Nepal newspaper quoted her as saying, "How could the political parties who call themselves democratic oppose the elections?"

The country's major political parties have been holding demonstrations to oppose the coming elections, saying participating in the polls would legitimize the king's power grab.

The parties have been demanding the king relinquish absolute power. Gyanendra has said the takeover was necessary to fight a violent communist rebellion and government corruption.

Gyanendra appointed Koirala's father, Girija Prasad Koirala, as a Cabinet minister in the royal government after the power grab.

A relative of the actress -- three-time for Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala -- leads the country's largest political party, the Nepali Congress. That party has been leading the alliance of parties against the king's rule.

India's Bombay-based Hindi-language Bollywood film industry churns out massive numbers of movies each year.

Millions around the world watch the exuberant song-and-dance films, even in countries where Hindi isn't understood.

Truer words were never spoken..I totally agree with you guys. Manisha Koirala is the pride of Nepal in terms she palyed in Indian Movies and recognize her country somehow in international Arena.

But it doesnot mean that she is a political figure to play against the feeling and sentiment of the people. She is supporting autocratism in 21st century. Shame on her. Go to your Bomboy and mind your own business....... You cannot be a Nepalese who wants more bloodshed and terror in the country.

Go to hell damn Manisha......... B.P Koirala ko nak katne........we are not gonna watch your movies anymore.

I guess just calling someone whore and disgrace won't do any good t our system. Our right of speech should be exercised but in the light of self reflection. We do good for our country, we fight for our country, we despise our enemies. But who is the enemy? Manisha who reached out ( be it asslicking the king) or Politicians who have done everything and anything for our country(sarcastic) or insurgents who want a new order in Nepal. Anyways, who is benefitting form this? I don't see any sane Nepali person saying that whatever is happening is happening for good, or that whatever is happening is alright. We look around the present situation of the world politics and condemn them for not being able to take right steps to prevent or mitigate the mar of civil wars or terrorism. But have we taken time to think that instead of calling out fatwa and putting morchas and staging coups and so called fight for democracy, we could use that same enthusiasm and will power to develop the country. And I know it is not a job of one person. It is a system that makes things work, and I guess our system has some faults in it.I guess we (politicians and lawmakers and People) have to take our time to analyze and rectify this issue.Meanwhile, I would like to take my time and criticise everybody for leading and letting being led to what our country is today. Another probable addition to the list of war-torn and going nowhere nations. Before some of you start typing to crticise my statement, I urge you to think about what out country was and what it is now, do the maths. Then maybe I will take it. But if you just want to bash me for the sake of bashing (which I see in this part of the Sajha), go ahead, help yourself.
Manisha is not the problem. Prakash Koirala is not the problem. King Gyanendra is not the problem. The problem is US. We are deemed vulnerable. Systems, governments, politicians, politics, development. We are being taken advantage of for our weakness. And history shows, only opnion(mostly) we render to any opposition is VIOLENCE.
The thing doesn't end here. This will never stop. Just me saying few stuff or he or she or you, nothing will change. BUT IF WE ALL CALL OUT AT ONCE, MAYBE SOMEONE WILL HEAR US.
PS: This is my personal opinion. I haven't done anything for my country(in the respect of YOGDAAN) but I do love my country. I grew up there and my big part of life was spent there. The least I can do is voice out my opinion, and I urge all my fellowmen in the foreign parts express their feelings( at least) if not their opinions.
