my favs are Chetan karki and Pradeep Giri...but I am also big fan of Ganesh Raj Sharma for his clarity if thoughts, his candid expression and in his own words "madhyam panki to dhaar" ....I am just wondering where are these guys amid this disgusting chaos of madenly crowd....

Its true that i have a different opinion about Rizal but thats not my basic problem. My moot problem is that i think those punks who considers Dr. Rizal as one of the most learned and intelligent person and academician in nepalese academia are either waylaid or suckers. It is a bit acceptable if the point of view came out from innocence. But it is non negotiable if the certificate came otherwise cause its a queer thing that common bastards always flock together. People with same sort of attributes always sticks together, its a sick thing but true nontheless. Dr. Rizal is a second hand person who doesnt even have his own existence. All his life he has been afraid , afraid that people discover his true self and camouflaging his fear with the cover of apparant knowledge. He has been afraid all his life lest people discover his fear, the fear that comes out of ignorance, the fear that comes out of pretence.

To the best of my knowledge, Dr. Risal is one of the promoters of Apex College, and NOT of Ace Insitute of Management.

That said, I have dealt with Dr. Risal in professional settings twice, and have found him to be quite
impressive.

Sure, in his personal life, he may have his own version
of whatever politics; and may have a few skeletons in his closet or that his is afraid of this or that . . .

But so what?
Who really cares?

Looking at Risal's PRESENT record, well, he appears to be running a private college well in Nepal (thereby educating the next generation of Nepali corporate leaders), and, at the same time, appears to be climbing up the ladder in Deuba's political party.

More kudos to Risal!
Hope he succeeds in his chosen endeavors!

If there are people out there who think Risal as an intellectual, then, so what? There is no rule anywhere
that says you have to have a tenured chair at Oxford
to be considered an intellectual in Nepal and among Nepalis!

What more do people want from Risal? A sainthood approved by the pujari of the Pashupati Nath Temple? Give me a
break.

I say all this -- as someone who knows Risal only casually. That's to say, I am not neither his relative nor his friend.

I do find his doing his work in Nepal for younger Nepalis much more remarkable than the constant yapping of these Nepe's GoogleDemocracy-wallahs who write and act as
though they were the Senators of Nepal!

Just my two cents.
Disagreements welcome.

Ashu-you are simply great.can sell your arguement. There are few others who produce logic based on their beliefs to certain political beliefs and calim himslef/herself as they were representing voice of Nepal and Nepali.

Thanks ashu for correcting it. I was actually going to say as well what you just said: we should show some appreciation for the people, rather than just demanding more with high expectations. I feel that it's good for the country as people like him returned Nepal and are contributing. It helps alot. I don't know whether he's a good orator or not; whether he's a good politican or not; whether he possess good moral character or not. But he's contributing more to nepalese society than all of us. It's good for him as well, I guess. It gives more satisfaction with the benefit of recognition in that trade-off. I don't know whether Minendra Rijal wrote Deuba's speech or not, and I don't know how fallacious and unconvincing it is. In that case, it's Deuba who earns more credits for that.

Bathroomcoffee,
How about getting your facts straight about what Oprah Winfrey and her show stand for before putting it in the same level as Jerry's? I won’t be a wee bit surprised to see you compare .
There is more to it than just glamour. Ever heard of Oprah's angel network? The school that she recently opened for unprivileged girls in Africa? The amount of charity work she does? The number of lives she touches every single day through her show and outside of it ? She’s not only the one of the wealthiest and well paid women in Hollywood but also the most contributive towards the deprived masses. Do you even watch her show at all? Ever cared to witness her totally selfless philanthropic nature full of humility which is equally tangible as it is visible in her show and elsewhere? Do you know what many pajama they collected yesterday in the show itself for the children under foster care in Boston yesterday? Do you have any idea what so ever about how many lives she has renewed over the years for the better? I don’t think so. So tell you what!! Enjoy YOUR Jerry and leave the Oprah thread alone.

One of the many things that I admire about Ashu is, he's never sort of crediting people who deserve to be applauded. In my honest opinion, that's a sign of a true scholar and an intellectual that many of us so-called educated Nepalese, be it in Nepal or outside, sadly, don't possess!

As far as Nepali is concerned I think it should be pradeep Giri . In English it should be King Gyanendra particularly after his speech in SAARC and how he challanged India and other neighbour not to interfere with Nepal's internal matter.

ShikariShambuji...
no i am not paschim.Sorry for not replying in another thread.I am from Kathmandu but have travelled Nepal not like typical kathmandubasi who normally do not cross thankot.
i haven't travelled to far western region but been to western region.

Sher bahadur might be joker or whatever people wanna call him but this is my personal opinion that guy is honest from his heart.I know he has been charged of corruption but i sense somekind of honesty in his chracter unlike girija and commie gang.people who can speak is certainly an advantage that is why we see lot of commies ahead in the game.We see thousands of kids working for maoist.
