22 police personnel, over 48 locals injured in Kapan incident
22 police personnel and over 48 locals were injured in clashes with locals at the Kapan Police Post on Monday.

A clash erupted between the Kapan locals and the police after the former accused some police personnel of being involved in looting the house of one Kusan Sherpa on Sunday evening.

Though the locals seized two alleged looters and handed them over to the police yesterday itself, they later surrounded the police office asking the duo be released so that they could themselves punish them and charged the police themselves being involved in the looting.

The police had to fire shots in the air to disperse the mob after the locals started ransacking the police office.

A total of 35 police personnel (nine from the Nepal Police and 26 from the Armed Police Force) were stationed at the post under the Bouddha Ward Police Office.

The irate locals set ablaze the police post and vandalized a police van. nepalnews.com pb July 18 06

Home Minister is seeking divine blessings and powers to fore-see any such events happening and adopt strategy to prevent them.
Transition phase has always been ideal for miscreants, now with Dasain on its way, incidences will only increase in numbers, and our HM is on a pligrimage, no wonder nobody really knows who is the authority in Nepal. Now with Pasupatinath, and Vishnu Avtar sidelined, we need aliens to keep an eye on the place closest to them on Earth.
