Try this: take off the battery and turn your computer on on AC power. when you wanna put ur HP battery back make sure the AC power is off. See if it works or not. It worked 4 me...

looks like your laptop lcd screen broke down. if possible, chek your laptop by connecting it to external monitor or tv using appropriate cable. if you still couldn't see your screen in external monitor or tv, it would likely that your laptop monitor has defect. If so, go to ebay or other sites, look for hp lcd screen, it costs less than $100. you can replace lcd monitor yourself at home. i had similar problem and it worked for me.

do u see any sign of life when u press the power button? if you do den u can try one thing first( taking the battery out and try without the battery), if that doesnt work take the memory out and put it back...if that doesnt work..use the vga cable and try on the external monitor....if u still cant see the display den ur problem is with the video card which is integrated inside..so the cost of motherboard is 150-200 dollars..check it with the mfg might get that for cheap price..and after that google how to install the mother board for ur specific model online with another computer...try to look around if u invest 20-25 mins u will find pics for it...and u will save 100s.. good luck and cheers.
