When you buy stocks, you anticipate the stock to go higher based on your research, but noone can tell when the stock will go higher, but you anticipate within short period of time, and that short period of time depends on each individual. A person can only take a day, and complain my stock did not go up, for another person could be a week, for another a month, for another a year and so on so. I anticipated Citigroup stock would go higher a few months ago, and it did go higher after a few months, and yesterday I booked the profit. Today is it still trading over $4.34. Short tempered trader be careful and be patient, eventually stocks will pay off. And don't buy a stock if some expert told you to buy it; do your own research first. But, if you take their advice it could pay off, and this is just one example. On the other hand stock could fall lower, and stay there for a long time, and the company may go bankrupt. So, if you take an expert's recommendation, don't blame the expert if the stock does not go your way in the amount of time you wanted, blame yourself because you took the advice without doing your research. Cheers

You're such a liar. You had told us in one of your past posts that you sold CITI when it was trading over 4, now you are saying that you just sold it. So what was your total profit after holding these for months? Please create 1 thread and put your ideas/recommendations there so that we can follow you and tell if you are for real.

I agree with Wheel. It is upto you whether or not you buy or refrain. No one can predict. It is your work to research before buying stocks. The Economist's prediction is totally unreliable. I just don't trust them.

I bought AIG when it was 12 dollars , Now it is over 33 dollars .. Economists prediction was to "sell it" at that time .. but instead I bought .. made bunch of money now ,, Bottom line : Do the research by yourself and be confident on your stock .. Happy Trading ..

Do you guys know why the Citi and AIG stocks were up by that much. It is due to the naked short that were covering.

Positive_Carry check your facts before you accuse someone. I was holding Citigroup when everyone was telling me to sell. You can check on the thread from April 28th. And be careful, and remember boomerang theory applied by wise men that whatever you accuse someone will come back to haunt whoever started the accusation if the accusation is false.
