 The first ever book on Nepal in English language was published in 1811 from London. "An Account on The Kingdom of Nepaul" by Colonel William Kirkpatrick, written in 1793.

this book (and also the writings of toni hagen) leave a yearning for a different time of nepal.
the observation on kirtipuri inhabitants (on page 164) is interesting.
