Is it true that we can apply OPT within two months after graduation as per the new rule? I do not want to apply it before I get Job.

The problem that you will face doing this is, its gonna takes at least a month to get your OPT. so if u find a job you have to wait a month to start the job. This really becomes hectic
The other thing you can do is apply for the OPT, but increase the starting date

plus, take into consideration that if u don't get a job within 90 days, u need to go back to school, or do something...u just cannot stay unemployed.

Hey A. Kale dude
Don't make such a mistake cause it's takes more than 2 months these days to get ur OPT approved. So just apply OPT in time but shift the starting date of ur OPT by two months from the date of graduationif you really need time to search the job. Last year myself and fellows suffered a lot due to delay in the OPT approval despite we had jobs in hand.

Yes, it's gonna take a lot more than one month to get your opt...........u never know what happens.......apply ahead.........I suffered a lot and nearly lost my job because of the delay.......so don't wait until u get a job. Plan things ahead. good luck.
