UPDATE 3.:

     I talked to Geico Agent here in MN and also to the Geico Toll Free Representative. Both of them denied the coverage to repair my Car. They told me that the uninsure coverage is only for the Helath coverage and they are ready to pay for my medical bill( which i don't need). I have left the voice message to the police who made a case for my accident  and informed him abut the image of the number plate seen on my car's rear bumper. I was able to track the first three letters and its "PZT-" 

I haven't heard from the police dept yet.

I will keep you guys updating. Keep visiting this thread !

मेरो सवारी साधान हानेर भाग्ने गाडिको नंबर प्लेट को केहि अंसको छाप मेरो गाडि मा देखिएको छ जुन तल राखेको छु । तपाई ,के तलको नंबर के हो भन्न सक्नु हुन्छ  ? हेर्नुहोस न मलाई एकिन नै भयन , पुलिस ले यो नंबर थाह पायो कि पायन भनेर ! भोलि पुलिस लाई फोन गरेर सोध्छु , त्यो भन्दा पहिला यो नं कति हो कन्फर्म गर्नु पर्यो ! धेरै पहिला सुनेको थिए , अमेरिका मा त एउटा गाडिले पार्किङ लट मा पनि अर्को गाडिलाई हान्यो भने , त्यो अर्को गाडिको संवन्धित ब्यक्ति नआईञ्जेल सम्म , आफ्नो गल्ति स्विकार्न र त्यो बराबर को क्षतिपुर्ति, आफ्नो ईन्सुरेन्स कम्पनी बाट दिलाउन पर्खैर बस्छन रे ! तर आज त्यस्तो भएन् । बेलुकि को ७ बजिसकेको थियो, म एक्लै मेरो कार चलाएर नजिकैको मल मा गैराखेको थिए । ट्राफिक लाईट को रातो बत्ति बलेको ले मैले आफ्नो गाडि रोकेको थिए , त्यहि बेलामा पछाडि बाट मेरो गाडिमा ठुलो धक्का दिदै अर्को गाडिले हान्यो ।

त्यसले हान्ने बित्तिकै म झर्नु पर्ने रहेछ, तर म गाडि बाट झरिन बरु उल्टो लाईट पास गरेर अगाडि खुला ठाउमा उ संग कुरा गरौंला भन्ने सोझो सोचाईले लाईट पास भएर गए, तर उ त बेईमान निस्कियो , त्यो लाईट बाट नै देब्रे मोडेर ,मलाई छोडेर भाग्यो । म त उ मेरो पछि आउला भनेको त कहा आउनु नि , भागि हाल्यो नि । जब त्यो गाडि ले मलाई हान्यो नि मेरो त होस हवास नै उड्यो । मैले त केहि सोच्नै सकिन । गाडि लाई त्यहि बिच लाईट मै ओर्लेर कम्सेकम उसको नंबर प्लेट लिन पाएको भए पनि हुने थियो , त्यो पनि सकिन । भनिन्छ नि चाहिने बेला बुद्दि सौंचालय जान्छ रे, आज मेरो बुद्दि त्यो बेला सौचालय गएछ क्यारे , त्यति बेला ओर्लेर नंबर पनि टिप्न सकिन । बेईमानि मोरो ! त्यसको त सत्यानास होस ! लौं ! मैले किन गालि गरेको होला त्यसलाई, त्यसको सत्यानास भएर मैले के पाउने ! त्यसको सत्यानास नहोस बरु त्यो ब्यक्ति पुलिस को कब्जा मा परोस र सहि सझाय भोगोस, यसो भने ठिक होला है ! , अनि मेरो क्षतिपुर्ति तिरोस। मैले आफैले खर्च गरे भने त कम्ति मा पनि ४५०० डलर लाग्छ । मोरो बज्जिया ! त्यस लाई मेरो गाडिमा ठोक्न भन्दा पहिला कालले लान नसकेको ! म पनि कहा हिढेको मान्छे , एक्जिट छुटेकोले कहा पुगेर गाडि कुच्याउन पुगे !

अनि के भयो त ? त्यस पछि मैले के गरे त ?

के गर्न सक्थे र मैले , नाईन वन वन (९११) ईमर्जेन्सि डाएल गरे ! उता बाट पहिलो रेस्पोन्स स्वरुप , "तपाई लाई कस्तो छ ?"," एम्बुलेन्स चाहिन्छ?" , "गाडि अवस्था कस्तो छ ?"," तपाईलाई सब ठिक छ ?"," कहि त चोट पटक लागेन ?" आदि प्रस्न को जवाफ सकिसके पछि मात्र मैले मेरो बृस्तित बिवरण पेश गरे ! एक छिन मा प्रहरी अधिकृत म भएको ठाउमा आउने सुचना दिदै मलाई नआत्तिकन पर्खैर गाडि भित्रै बस्न आग्रह गरियो । म गाडि भित्र बसि रहे केवल आफ्नो मु्र्खतालाई गिज्याउदै ! करिब २ मिनेट भित्र प्रहरी अधिकृत मेरो गाडि भएको ठाउमा आई पुगे ! र मेरो फेरी बयान लिए र एउटा दर्ता प्रकृया पुरा गरे !

के अब त्यसो भए मेरो गाडि ठोक्ने मानिस भेटिन्छ त ?
यस को जवाफ कोहि संग पनि छैन ! त्यो गाडि को पहिचान हुने सार्है न्युन संभावना छ । पत्ता लाग्न को लागि कि म संग उसको लाईसेन्स प्लेट नंबर हुनु पर्ने रहेछ , जुन म संग छैन । दोश्रो , कि कसैले ९११ मा कम्पलेन गरेर त्यो गाडि को नंबर बताईदिनु पर्ने रहेछ, अहिले संम्म त कसैले पनि गरेको छैन रे । तेश्रो, म ईन्जुअर्ड भयको भय उनि हरु ले बिशेष अनुसन्धान सुरु गर्ने रहेछन , जसमा ट्राफीक लाईट को भिडियो हेरेर त्यसको प्रोसेसिंग गरिने रहेछ । यी माथिका ३ मध्य कुनै पनि, म मा लागु नहुने भयो , अब पर्यो फर्साद । तर पनि पुलिस ले निगरानि त राखिराख्ने छ रे । लौंन हजुर तपाई हरुले पनि मेरो लागि प्राथना गरिदिनुहोस न ! कतै त्यो बदमास फेला परिहाल्छ कि । जमाना त बदमास को पो त रहेछ । मेरो ब्यवहार बाट फाईदा लिनेहरु धेरै भए । अब अलि बदमास र कडा बन्नु पर्ला जस्तो छ !

लौ हजुर मेरो गुनगुन पस्के, अब तपाई हरुको कामना नै मेरो समाधान को औषधी हुन सक्छ !
केहि प्रगति भयो भने तपाई हरुलाई यहि ब्लग बाट नै जानकारी दिने छु ! ब्लग को फाईदा नै यहि छ , तपाई आफ्नो कुरा, सबै संग बाढ्न पाउनु हुन्छ । अहिले म केवल त्यो प्रहरीले दिएको दर्ता नं हेरेर टोलाई रहेको छु , एउटै कामना सहित , मैले न्याय पाउनै पर्छ र त्यो बदमास् ले सझाय पाउनै पर्छ !

Hi. First and foremost... I wish I could respond back in Devnagari script but I do not know how to do that. Next... sorry to hear about your situation.

I had a similar situation so I thought I'd share my experience with you. My car was hit during the New Years weekend while parked in my complex late night and I have no idea who did it.

At this point what I can suggest for you do is, contact your auto insurance company and tell them your situation. Do not wait too long in doing this coz they have time limit for filing a claim. I am praying that you have insurance. They deal with these type of situations all the time. Based on your coverage, you might get lucky and they will pay for the damages minus the deductible based on which state you live in. Since you do not have much information to go with (and police will tell you that they are looking into it to get you off their back), it is best not to dwell on it too much and hope that you are going to find this individual. If it does, it is good if not .. try to take care of your problem coz we all make mistakes and we learn from it. It is just unfortunate that there are not that many honest people out there so instead of feeling the blues, start working on finding a solution. Good luck with everything.

Thanks much for your reply to my post.The problem is that , i only have liability coverage. I don't have the collision (Full coverage) insurance. I had it but just cancelled a month ago !

Since the accident happened at the Traffic light, hopefully they could find sth from the surveillance cameras installed there. I called 911 after like 5 minutes and cops came there within 2, 3 minutes. But I am not pretyy much sure, how seriously are they going to take this accident.

Talk with your insurance agent, give him a call or go and meet him. He should/must guide you and get your car repaired. For that he gets commission .

If he does not help him then say him that you  are going to change your insurance agent you will do with some one else.

I am so sorry to hear this. My understanding is if you only have liability insurance under no circumstance can the insurance agent help you. however you might wanna call your insurance company to find out if they can find any solution.  If only you had full insurance hit and run situation would have automatically count under uninsured driver  but its not the case here. I feel that survillance video is the only way to track that thug and make him pay for your damage. follow up with the cops . good luck

Maile jane bujhe samma, tapinko case hit and run bhayeko le, unisured motorist title le tapainko sabai expenses cover garchha. Don't worry about that... Tapainko jastai same case uninsured motorist title bata cover gareko dekheko chhu. Baru insurance company anusar pharak parne bahye ta arkai kura ho, maile bhaneko case 1 week before ko ho, Geico insurance company bata....

Any way tapainko dherai kharchha nalagos, tyo accident garayera bhagne lai daibale pani nachhodos....

Don't worry dude, ur insurance will cover everything for repair of ur car. And u don't need to search for the one who hit u.

That happened to me, one guy hit my car from behind and ran away. I called 911 and they came similary the way u described and were also able to catch the guy later on. My insurance covered everything for me, the guy (I could not have access to that guy) had court hearings where I was called for victims explanation but I could not go as I needed to go to college.

So no need to look for that guy. Ur insurance will find that u had no mistake in that by looking at ur car and then cover the expenses. Expect for the best and good luck.

My car was also hit and run a person from MN. I lost $3000, now  I am expecting to recover my lost.

I see you have uninsured motorist coverage.  I think that is to prorect you from hit-and-run drivers and/or someone who does not have sufficient insurance to cover your damage.  So your nsurance should cover your damages!

The plate font does resemble a Minnesota plate (check example: http://www.15q.net/mn.html)  and it indeed looks like PZT. The remaining 3 digits are missing.

I wonder how many plates with those three letters were distributed in that area in MN. Maybe calling DMV may help.
