Folks,
I'm a citizen of America now, and thinking of visiting my parents in Nepal. What documents should I carry? NRN ID, renew my expired Nepalese passport or apply for visa? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Happy Maha Shivaratri

Nothing. Just an american passport. They will give you visa on TIA.

Yes, they give visa on arrival. Do you know what documents are needed and what is the fee for NRN?

i just went to nepal like 5 months ago..
They will give you a visa on arrival.
But to make things easier and faster and to avoid headache. i filled out a visa form online, upload the passport pic, and paid the fee online.
Long story short - if you fill the app online....you'll be stuck in one line.
if you don't fill out the online app....you'll be stuck in 3 lines. One to line to convert dollar to rupee, next line to take a pic, and the last line for visa.

Have fun man!

Sounds like getting visa is the right option for me. I'll apply for the visa online. Thank you all for the helpful info. Peace!

@santa lil helper, I'm travelling to Nepal with a kid in tow, the online application sounds good. So after filling form do i get a receipt to show at TIA to show them ? How does it work, I would really apreciate your reply

@Bestpal....yes you get a confirmation on the email that you provide them. but i also printed out the completed form just as an "insurance". So when i got there...i just showed the staff the paper...and they told me to get in line where you get ur passport stamped. I guess if you want you take extra copies of PP pics.....just to be on the safe side.
