KATHMANDU – Nepal's royalist government cut land-based and mobile telephone links in the capital on Thursday, a day before a rally scheduled by the main political parties to protest against King Gyanendra who seized power last year. "Telephone lines as well as mobile phones have been cut off since 5 a.m. (2315 GMT on Wednesday)," independent Kantipur radio said. Kathmandu residents reported their phones were not working but reporters said the Internet was functioning. -- Got this news from radiodovaan
