Anybody have any new idea for coming ANA 2006. Every year same concert , DJ night and same politics about nepal. Please, suggest them something intresting and new to make it better. Do you think they should invite singer and other peoples from nepal spending so much money or give chance to the singers and artist who are here in USA.

i think it is a brilliant idea to give chances to the artists that are already living here in states, after all daal bhaat is daal bhaat, there is no difference who is singing. sorry,

it would be nice if we can have strip show or hire some stripper this year. seprate for men and womens. that would be awesome LOL

What is the full meaning of ANA, Associations of the Nepalese in Americas, or Associations of the Nonsenses in Americas, why you guys have so much expectation with this kind of organization. Furtunetly or unfurtunetly I have been associated with this organization since its inceptions in 80s. ANA is 25 years old youth now but up to now it didn’t accomplish any example. Where is that culture center ANA always dream off.

ANA is zero in preservation of Nepales culture in America, and furthermore, it is fail to protect Nepali interest in USA. Did you guys know what ANA did when those Nepali student Tx, MN dies in the accident. ANA call itself a umbrella organization of Nepali in America, but it is acting like a those politicians in Nepal who are good in speech but doing nothing.

Go and enjoy July 4th picnic in Big apple....see those big shot of ANA fighting for power as those do in Nepal...oh that way ..they are preserving Nepali culture here in the USA.

I dont have any expectation from ANA . My point is they invite artist from nepal for concert and exhibition spending so much money. I think they have to give chance to artist who live here. There is some student who are in art school and looking for good oppurnity. I think they can sing better than popular singers in Nepal.This is a good platfrom to promote those neplese artist who live here.

That is good idea in your stand point, but ANA executive have their relatives in Nepal who they want to bring here in cultural visa with cultural grpups. Please list me any good things ANA did for Nepali community in USA, Being a umberella organization they have a great social responsibility for Nepali community here in US....so, yes write to ANA president maybe she is somewhere in AZ .......VP in DC....

With no offence to anyone, I have to say, sad it is but true that ANA has failed to live up to the expectations of nepalese people in general. It has been a good point for people of young generation to meet and choose their potential partners so in that respect it may deserve some accolades.

gr8 idea of givin a chance to artist here in usa rather than bringing sam old guys frm nepal n artist who com here for ANA they get lost in US so juss promote nepalese singers who r here n i guees they'll b faaaar bettter than nepalese singers from nepal same old maya preeti bull$hit songs no offense:-

I think we have to promote the artist over here. As far i know there is good professional singers in seattle and other states. I heard there is one student who is doing his major in music at Brown University too.
For an art exhibitions there is one famous artist from nepal in columbia university, one in dallas who did his exhibition in ANA 2005 and if we look around we can find many artist here in USA.
For cultural show there is lots of talent here in USA.
Instead ofspending money for artist who are in Nepal , we should give chance to peoples who are here.
We should have talant show and art competation for high school students.

instead of wasting money on concerts and stuff why not donate money to some worthy cause back home in Nepal. I am pretty sure how dire the situation is in Nepal.

I AGREE WITH THE CONCEPT OF GIVING CHANCES TO THE ARTISTS IN USA. WELL WE NEED TO GIVE CHANCES TO THE ARTIST WHO ARE ALREADY HERE SO THEY WON'T NEED TO WORK IN SUBWAY OR ANY RESTAURANTS ALSO. ALSO ABOVE THAN THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST ANA TO FOR FUND RAISING PROGRAM FOR PRIME MINISTER RELIEF FUNDS IN NEPAL SO THAT THE UP COMING ELECTED PRIME MINISTER( ONE OF THE SEVEN PARTIES) CAN USE FOR PARTY PURPOSE. SERIOUSLY I DON'T THINK GIVING IDEAS HERE IN SAJHA DOT COM WOULD BE APPLIED BY ANA EXCUTIVES. COZ I BET MOST OF THEM ARE AGREESSIVE IN RAISING VOICES FOR HUMAN RIGHT IN NEPAL RATHER THAN NON-POLITICAL ACTIVITIES.

I guess ANA conventions should always be about getting together, spreading rumors, poking fun at some else, getting jelous of someone else, having a party, getting insanely drunk, fooling around, getting into fist fight(if needed) and finally deciding to repeat the whole thing next year arounmd at another city in some other part of the US.

Why the heck would people want to care anything else other than to have a party and get drunk ? People talk about problem in Nepal.and so forth...those are such "off the track" things to talk about at ANA conventions.
