I am currently attending UMBC, but am really confused whether I should transfer to UMCP or not.I was wondering if there is anyone who has transferred to UMCP. I am most curious about the scholarships they offer for transfer students(Marlynad residents) because its simply unaffordable unless I get really good scholarhip.Could anyone please share me his/her experience about the financial aid received from the college while transferring.
Thanks in advance.

I graduated from UMCP and so did most of my friends. UMCP is a good college but not so economic. Plus, living expense around College Park is not cheap or just plane dangerous. Since it is a state university, they don't have good scholarships or grants. If you are doing graduate school, you might be able to find some stipends through research or TA program. If money is a big factor, i would suggest to look for some other university. If you can, check also at UMUC. UMUC is a sister university and share same campus. I think it is slightly cheaper than UMCP and not so hard to get in. Good luck.

Hi six strings,
Thanks so much for your reply. I am happy attending UMBC, no complains as far as academic side is concerned , but I just think UMCP might be even better with greater diversity of people. If I transfer from UMBC, then its only UMCP.The things I hate about UMBC is its pretty boring and although it is diversed, I don't like when Arabic people only hangout with Arabics,Asians with Asians .. its hard to fit into thier groups. The weekends are so quiet too as most of the students go home. I heard that UMCP throws good scholarship for a transfer student (Maryland resident) with very good GPA plus I am a Math major and UMCP is renowned for Maths programme. In addition to these important factors, UMCP is fun too. I have been there couple of times and damn, they even have beer delievry service around College Park.lol
But money talks, so I am keeping my finger crossed.
